Making up close to 10 million acres of land, the Tsavos combined make up the largest protected area in Kenya, and one of the largest in Africa. They are the most preferred safari destinations for beach lovers – owing to their proximity to the coast of Kenya. Both Tsavo West and East offer some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephants, rhinos, Hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.Sights

Tsavo East – The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of the palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300-kilometer-long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, makes for an experience unlike any other. Tsavo West – From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out from under the parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below. The Tsavos are the ideal destination for tourists who wish to go deep into the wilderness. They offer a unique safari experience with long game drives over expansive, rugged terrain as well as secluded safari lodges and tented camps that blend almost perfectly with their natural environment to allow the visitor to feel at one with Nature.
